Donate to the Fairmount Avenue Fund

June 21st, 2011  |  Published in Community Projects, Featured

What is the Fairmount Avenue Fund?

The Fairmount Avenue Fund is a campaign to make Fairmount Avenue even more beautiful. By matching grant monies with fundraising dollars we hope to install new street banners, planters, trashcans, an information kiosk and more to make the Avenue more pedestrian friendly, attractive, and inviting. We’ve secured limited funding to get these projects started, but we’re depending on the generosity of our businesses and neighbors to complete these project. Every little bit helps, so please contribute today. And remember, as a 501(c)3 organization, all donations are tax deductible.

Fairmount CDC Releases RFP for Developers to Address Vacant PHA Properties in Fairmount

April 28th, 2011  |  Published in Community Projects, Featured

The purpose of this Request for Proposals (“RFP”) is to select for-profit and non-profit developers to partner with the Fairmount Community Development Corporation (“FCDC”) to acquire, renovate and sell Philadelphia Housing Authority (“PHA”) properties located in the Fairmount neighborhood. The renovated properties can be sold to the general public at market rate, however providing affordable housing to low-moderate-middle income households is a priority for the FCDC therefore developers who can carve out a certain percentage of affordable, income-restricted properties will be given preference in this RFP process. There are no subsidies available for any affordable units proposed. Properties must be purchased at fair market value and developers select and pay for the appraisals of each property.
