Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority (SEPTA)
SEPTA is Philadelphia’s public transit authority. It runs all buses, subways, trolleys, and commuter trains in the metropolitan area. Getting to Fairmount on SEPTA is a breeze. You can ride SEPTA’s 7, 32, 43, 48 buses or ride SEPTA’s 15 trolley, depending on what part of the city you’re coming from. Base fare for SEPTA’s service is $2 for buses, trolleys, and subways. Philadelphia Trolley Works / Big Bus Tours
Philadelphia Trolley Works and the Big Bus Tours are another great way to get to Fairmount. These tours take you around Philadelphia’s most visited attractions. To get to Fairmount, hop on at any Philly Tours stop, located at most major attractions, at hop off at Stop #9. Tickets can be purchased in advance online or on board on the bus.
Driving & Parking
Getting to Fairmount by car is a breeze. Located just off of I-76 and I-676 you can get to Fairmount in just minutes from most other points of interest around the city. Once you’re here there is ample parking* available in a commercial parking lot just across the street of Eastern State Penintentary at 22nd Street & Fairmount Avenue.
*Please note that for major events including Welcome America, City-Wide Parades, Terror Behind the Walls, and other events parking maybe limited and you should consider riding SEPTA.
