BUSINESS SPOTLIGHT: Neighborhood Potters

This month’s GAMBA business spotlight features Neighborhood Potters, a pottery studio specializing in functional pottery and ceramics classes.

Tell Us About Your Business!

Neighborhood Potters is active pottery making studio that also offers classes. We make and sell pottery and jewelry. We have been on Fairmount Avenue for 24 years. Our building was a dump when we bought it in 2000, and over the years we have renovated the entire building.

What Makes You Stand Out?

Our pottery is made right in our studio on Fairmount Avenue. We have a small retail space, and also sell the pottery of our instructors, as well as Sandi's jewelry, so all work is made right here in Philadelphia. We feel it is important to support local artists!

Why Do You Love Working in the Art Museum District?

The community is the best! It is like a small town in a big city, with great neighbors and fun bars and restaurants. We feel so fortunate to live and work in this little slice of Philadelphia.

Tell us about your founder. What was their inspiration for opening the business?

Sandi Pierantozzi and Neil Patterson are the founders and owners of Neighborhood Potters. We wanted a studio to make and sell our work, but also a space to offer pottery classes, to bring the community together by teaching people the beautiful art of pottery making. Our classes are creative and social, bringing together a varied group of people of all ages and backgrounds. We are so grateful to the Fairmount, Spring Garden, and Francisville communities for their continued support over these many years.
