July Business Digest

Neighborhood News and Notes

Friends and neighbors, we’re writing today to share a change in our organization. Julia Marchetti, our Business Services Manager, has accepted a full-time position and will be leaving Fairmount CDC after July 21. We are thrilled for Julia, will miss her and want to celebrate all she accomplished during her time at FCDC:

  • Met with 100 local businesses

  • Re-launched our GAMBA Meet Ups

  • Facilitated the return of the Fairmount Arts Crawl

We also want to announce that we’re reimagining the role of Business Services Manager to ensure that the growing needs of our Greater Art Museum Business Alliance members and the community are met. The position has taken on many iterations in the last decade; most recently, it has been a part-time role. Like many of you, as we navigate the effects of a pandemic and a challenging labor market, it has been difficult to retain employees while offering employment on a part-time basis.

While we adapt, we will continue to rely on feedback from business owners, community members and key stakeholders to shape this new position. Please reach out to us with any questions. We look forward to sharing our new vision with you in the coming weeks and hope to see you at the next GAMBA meet up on July 21 or through our PhillyiHub program, launching in August and accepting applications now.

GAMBA Spotlight: CoreFitness

This month’s GAMBA business spotlight features CoreFitness, a mobile fitness company whose home base and favorite outdoor workout location is the Art Museum steps. Learn how they're revolutionizing the way fitness is delivered right here in our community.

GAMBA Meet Up July 21st

The Greater Art Museum Business Alliance will host a Meet Up for neighborhood business-owners on Thursday evening July 21st. Please email jmarchetti@fairmountcdc.org if you'd like to attend.

We are excited to be back in-person and able to create space for businesses to network with each other and share their ideas, questions, successes, and concerns. Through this event, Fairmount CDC hopes facilitate connections between GAMBA members while learning more about you, your businesses, and how the Greater Art Museum Business Alliance can better serve you through specific programming and support.
