Neighborhood News and Notes
Our mid-month newsletter is all about highlighting our community businesses and partners. In late May, The Inquirer published their 'Explore Brewerytown' feature, with tons of opportunities to eat, drink, explore arts and culture in the neighborhood, and meet the independent entrepreneurs making the community their home, including the newest businesses Retro Rewind and Bagels & Co.
Philadelphia Museum of Art has a full schedule of events and opportunities celebrating Pride Month. This Friday-Monday, Juneteenth weekend, is also their Community Weekend and Block Party!
In addition, Night Tours are back at Eastern State Penitentiary historic site, Thursday through Sunday evenings through September 3.
Lastly, at Smith Playground, Kidchella kicks off Friday, June 23, with a FREE concert.
NBC10 has a sneak peek into Baby's Kusina, the family-owned restaurant coming to Brewerytown "serving up Filipino food with a twist." Hope you didn't miss their feature on 6ABC too! The Inquirer shouted out another pending new arrival, The Boozy Mutt, "a bar, restaurant, boutique, and dog park, replacing the North Star Bar at 27th and Poplar." The Monkey & The Elephant, Girard Avenue's mission-driven coffee shop, is being featured in Edible Philly Magazine's spring/summer edition, and you can learn more about their summer campaign to raise $20,000 for programming at this link!
Last but not least, we'd like to ask for your help. The recent neighborhood events, business announcements, street sweeping and community support that happens in the Art Museum District are all made possible by YOU! We rely on neighbors and partners to drive our mission, and we hope you'll help us reach our goal of $2,500 to renew our business directory and marketing materials this summer by contributing before the end of our fiscal year this June.
