Neighborhood News and Notes
We are still buzzing from the Girard Avenue Street Festival, and cannot wait to see everyone at the Fairmount Avenue Arts Crawl this Sunday from Noon-4pm. Visit our site and Instagram for more on the vendors, artists and businesses featured across the neighborhood!
There's more happening off the avenues - Bache-Martin Elementary's fourth annual Bache in Bloom fundraiser, silent auction and family fun night is Thursday, May 18th, from 4-7pm. The event is free and open to the community!
From May 31-June 3, Girard College hosts the world premiere of #BeHolding, an original performance inspired by 76ers basketball legend Dr. J. "‘Be Holding’ meditates on America’s history of racial violence in search of Black genius, justice, and joy." Purchase tickets for yourself, or sponsor one for a neighbor at www.beholding.org.
This Saturday, May 20 is the Brewerytown Block Party at 31st & Master from 1-8pm.
In neighborhood business news, check out these 6ABC stories on Brewerytown's New June Bakery and Baby's Kusina, Metro Philadelphia on the new Brewerytown Food Hall, Philadelphia magazine highlighting Brewerytown Beats, plans for the new Our Town Brewery on Ridge Avenue, the Inquirer's story on the mission-driven work of Cosmic Cafe on Boathouse Row, and shoutouts for Cantina Feliz and Fare on Fairmount Avenue in the Inquirer's "neighborhood guide to eating outside."
