We are proud to present the 5th annual Girard Avenue Street Festival this Saturday, rain or shine. From 11am to 5:30pm you'll find bounce houses, bands, local businesses, restaurants, artists and vendors from College Ave. to 29th Street along Girard. Click here for our full guide to the event.
Volunteer to help with setup from 8:30-10:30am on the morning of the event and receive a free t-shirt.
Stop by the Fairmount CDC tent at 28th and Girard Avenue to purchase a limited edition neighborhood poster, created by City Line Drawings exclusively for our anniversary. Check it out here.
There are lots more opportunities across the neighborhood this weekend! This Saturday is Founder’s Day at Girard College, the grand opening of Bodie at 2026 Fairmount Avenue, there are volunteer opportunities for the final days of Love Your Park Week as well. We're also celebrating the opening of Rival Bros. Coffee in the Poth Brewery, 3145 W. Jefferson Street. Philly Art Center on Fairmount celebrated their 20th anniversary at the Arts Crawl in April - check out our photos and recap from an amazing day at this link.
Lastly, the Mayor's Open for Business initiative was announced recently with a special guest from our community - Irene Council-Grant of Platinum Fruit Creations on Girard Avenue. We have more on Irene's story and business at this link. Are you thinking of starting or growing a local business? Make sure you're in touch - we can't wait to help!
