We are proud to present the 5th annual Girard Avenue Street Festival this Saturday, rain or shine. From 11am to 5:30pm you'll find bounce houses, bands, local businesses, restaurants, artists and vendors from College Ave. to 29th Street along Girard. Click here for our full guide to the event.


Volunteer to help with setup from 8:30-10:30am on the morning of the event and receive a free t-shirt.


Stop by the Fairmount CDC tent at 28th and Girard Avenue to purchase a limited edition neighborhood poster, created by City Line Drawings exclusively for our anniversary. Check it out here.

 

There are lots more opportunities across the neighborhood this weekend! This Saturday is Founder’s Day at Girard College, the grand opening of Bodie at 2026 Fairmount Avenue, there are volunteer opportunities for the final days of Love Your Park Week as well. We're also celebrating the opening of Rival Bros. Coffee in the Poth Brewery, 3145 W. Jefferson Street. Philly Art Center on Fairmount celebrated their 20th anniversary at the Arts Crawl in April - check out our photos and recap from an amazing day at this link.


 

Lastly, the Mayor's Open for Business initiative was announced recently with a special guest from our community - Irene Council-Grant of Platinum Fruit Creations on Girard Avenue. Community Events

Bache-Martin School’s fifth annual Bache in Bloom fundraiser will take place today - Thursday, May 16 from 4-7pm. Each year the event grows, and its impact on the students of Bache-Martin is invaluable. Join in making Bache in Bloom extraordinary!

 

Please join us at the Philadelphia Girls' Club White Elephant Yard Sale on June 1-2 (next to the lighthouse on Boathouse Row, Kelly Drive) for a selection of new and used sports equipment, household goods, memorabilia, antiques, toys and surprises. Funds will be used for the ongoing preservation of our 1861 boathouse, specifically the porch foundation. 


Since 1938, the Philadelphia Girls' Rowing Club allows women of all ages to tap into their maximum potential as athletes.
