May Community Digest

Updated: May 6, 2022

Today is the start of National Small Business Week and there are plenty to celebrate throughout the neighborhood! Our new team member, Julia Marchetti, leads the Greater Art Museum Business Alliance to help support this community, as well as PhillyiHub - a free program serving current and aspiring entrepreneurs.

Later this month there will be several opportunities to contribute to our community during Love Your Park Week, May 7-15. Visit this website for specific locations and details. The Fairmount CDC team members who help clean our commercial corridor every day were recently recognized with an award from the Commerce Department (see more below), and we had a great turnout for our own Philly Spring Clean Up Day in early April.

Looking ahead to the summer (and fall!) we are excited about the return of more in-person events including our own Fairmount Avenue Arts Crawl on Sunday, June 26 and the Girard Avenue Street Festival, on Saturday, October 1. There will be lots more to share on these and other exciting events soon.
