After staying in last weekend to avoid the rain, we're excited to get out in the neighborhood again. Read below for all that's happening across the Art Museum District, and include a stop at a local business in your plans - small businesses make our community unique, they drive employment and growth across the city, and we have more than ever to visit.
Celebrate the 175th anniversary of Girard College this Friday afternoon, September 29 at 1pm, with a performance by world-renowned organist Felix Hell; click here to reserve a spot at this unique concert.
Saturday, September 30 is the city's fall cleanup day - with chances to volunteer in Spring Garden, Lemon Hill, and Francisville. Afterward, check out Discovery Fest - filled with free events celebrating the 5th anniversary of The Discovery Center on Reservoir Drive, across from Smith Playground - and the fourth installment of CADO, highlighting the Philadelphia region’s Black artists, small businesses, and makers at Hatfield House.
Have a drink and snack on the historic Strawberry Mansion Bridge! Parks on Tap is set up on the span through this weekend. Before or after, stop by 29th and Girard for the Brewerytown Fire Prevention Block Party from 3pm to 6pm on Sunday, hosted by Otto’s Taproom & Grille and the Philadelphia Fire Department Foundation.
Looking ahead, we're preparing for another Second Saturday on Girard Avenue, October 14. Then Halloween, October 31 in Philadelphia's best neighborhood for trick or treating.
Stay tuned for Taste of Fairmount on November 16 as well. Ticket sales open next week!
